I set the Shrink log segments job to run last night @04.30. When I check it has errored because of the following:

It seems like the job encountered an error, possibly because it was stopped or the background process running on the database was terminated manually. Please verify if the database was restarted recently. No need to worry; you can try running the job again over the weekend and see if it completes without any problems. Make sure you do not have any scheduled maintenance or restart during the execution time. If the error persists, investigate what might be causing the job termination.
Additionally, keep in mind that it's advisable to run this job weekly, not daily. If you have scheduled the job, ensure that the execution interval aligns with this recommendation.

During the execution of the job, certain issues were identified. In light of these challenges, IFS suggests avoiding the use of the background job and, instead, recommends utilizing the Oracle Advance Compression feature. This feature has been available from Oracle 12C onwards and performs the same tasks as the shrink lob segment job. Consider using this alternative for a more effective and reliable solution.
