In the data source, make sure you format the data as a currency. In the element design, format the column to be printed italic.

you can do something like this in the lobby element designer:
At first choose the column and create a new condition.
The value is not equal “X”. Therefore the condition will never be fulfilled and the font style is going to be italic.
