You need to open the relevant schema .xsl file too to open an RDL.

Yes, but I cannot fetch report from database.

I can see layouts in list, but when I try to open one report, nothing happens.

@ROXTOBANE in order to view/edit report using report designer, you need to export the schema file (.XSD) as well as layout file (.rdl). Go to report definitions > search for the report > RMB on header > export schema, then RMB on layout export. Make sure to export and keep the both files in same folder. Then try with report designer, you should be able to work with the layout. Also it is always good to check you using the correct version of report designer.

Do you see any errors if you go to Tools -> Show logs?
Also check and confirm that you have write access in the location where the RDL file is located. Or else copy the RDL file in to another location where your logged in user has write access.

Or, there could be a problem with the installation as well.

It seems like he is having a different problem when he is trying to fetch a report from the database.

Can you tell me the version of the Report Designer Tool?
