I am investigating an issue with the usage of quick report-based projections in the BPA.
Initially, the BPA fails to retrieve data from quick report-based projections, showing the error: “Failed to retrieve metadata due to internal error.”
It appears the quick report needs to be executed at least once through the user interface before the projection data can be accessed.
Is there any known workaround for this behavior?

Can you provide bit more information so we can narrow down the issue more,
What is the IFS version you are in ?
is the quick report-based projection used inside the workflow using API task ?
So I have the same issue.
The quick report works as expected but when calling it using a workflow it gives the metadata error.
When you do a “refresh quick report” seems that updates/refreshes the metadata cache and then it starts working again.
In this case it happened after a delivery update I think.
As using quick reports is the only possible way at the moment to replicate the usage of cursors this should work! (This is on 24R1)
So this seems to be a confirmed design limitation for now.
