Hi everyone,

We’re preparing to upgrade our environment from IFS Cloud 24R1 to 25R1 and I’d like to ask if there are any specific areas we should pay attention to this time — any known issues, changes, or recommendations from your experience?
We’re also planning to upgrade OS of VM (Ubuntu Linux) to the latest release, so any advice or compatibility notes related to this would be appreciated.
Lastly, how does it look with Kubernetes compatibility and version requirements for 25R1 or latest Ubuntu? Are there any major changes or prerequisites we should be aware of before starting the upgrade process?

Hi, We experienced a login failure, which was reported under the following IFS Community post. A fix is currently on the way.

Bug 25R1 SU3 login fails | IFS Community

You can find more details about the support platform in the following document.

https://docs.ifs.com/techdocs/25r1/080_supported_platforms/

I tested the upgrade from Ubuntu 20.04 to 22.04 LTS, and the process completed without any issues. However, the VM is not stable, and I experienced connection failures. Based on my understanding, the best approach is to spin up a new Ubuntu 22.04 VM, as it is more stable.

Hey @maheshmuz

Thank you for your reply. Apart from the issues mentioned, have you encountered any other problems? I mean custom events, custom fields? I see in the documentation that Ubuntu 22.04 is specified, but only for 24R2 – I understand that there is no problem with 22.04? What about Kubernetes? It is also not clearly specified that Ubuntu has Kubernetes version 1.32 – should I update it separately?

As for the Ubuntu installation itself, I am also considering setting up a new virtual machine with the target operating system version.

Hi,Other than that, I haven’t noticed any issues. Yes, there are no problems with 22.04. For Kubernetes version control, you should download the new artifact created with the release update from the IFS Lifecycle Portal and use it to create a new ifsroot for installing the release update.

@kacperifs Have you checked out the articles available in the 25r1 Release Notes?

Hello @kacperifs ,

our case was slightly different because we moved from 23R2 to 25R1 and it could be that following issues already existed in the 24 version:

  • triggers related to the history log were invalidated and showed errors when creating POs or editing customers e.g. an error related to INDENTITY_INVOICE_INFO_I fired when a new entry was insert in Customer->Invoice tab.
  • customer agreements changed statuses from Active to Negotiated (but they are still valid and applied when creating a customer order)
  •  in the multicompany: when change your company, and choose Create New Voucher from navigator, then IFS does not apply the ne company and shows an error.
  • in the lobby, when you have your Saved searches, then there is no space between Name and number of records. A solution is to put dashes like shown below:
  • Bank Statement import via CAMT53 → it used to be via Projection but now is PLSQL:

  • EDI message: in lines, IFS requires WantedDeliveryDateTime  (used to be WantedDeliveryDate)
  • Access rights. During first tests, users frequently got “Access denied” message as some new actions were added e.g CustomerOrderHandling → RefreshCustOrderLineAfterCrud

Hi @kacperifs,

This answer might already be too late, but we went live on 25.1.3 today and have run into quite a lot of issues around time zone and time zone handling. Things we weren’t prepared for or had tested before going live. We also upgraded from 24.1 to 25.1.

This has affected integrations, since now date/time fields requires time zone. And some other ‘interesting’ results when working across multiple timezones, block operations, distribution orders.
