Issue with having 2 Print Agents for Same Cloud Environment

Forum|alt.badge.img+4

My current installation has a single Print Agent installed on a Utility Server.  This works fine.  I would like to add a second Print Agent hosted on a second Utility Server to help with printing responsiveness and to serve as a backup.  To do this, I installed a second Print Agent and assigned it a unique "ID".  Additionally, the installation uses a second IAM Client entry using a unique "Client ID".  Each Print Agent's printer mappings are unique as well.  My installation is currently on IFS Cloud Release 24R2.

The second Print Agent's service will not start successfully.  The logs show the following:

From IFSPAService_%.log:

Hi @dbwilson , Try the following workaround to see whether it resolves the issue:
Remove the current setup from the second Print Agent server, copy the working IFS Print Agent installation folder from the existing server, and install it on the second server using the copied folder.

ensure that you follow the IFS Print Agent installation guide during the installation https://docs.ifs.com/techdocs/24r2/070_remote_deploy/400_installation_options/005_operational_reporting/020_install_print_agents/#configuration_installation

Hi @dbwilson , I would suggest using the existing IAM Client (IFS_print_agent) from your current installation for the second Print Agent as well, instead of creating a separate IAM Client.

Hi @maheshmuz.  Thanks for the suggestion.  After changing the IAM Client, I tried starting the print agent.  I’m unfortunately receiving the same errors I previously received when I used a second IAM Client.

@knepiosko I checked the event viewer and found no related entries.  Thanks for the suggestion.

Let’s go forward. What is in:

select * from REMOTE_PRINTER_MAPPING_TAB;
select * from REMOTE_PRINTING_NODE_TAB;

@knepiosko Those tables contain records for the first print agent only.  No entries for the second.  I assume entries for the second print agent would exist once that print agent could start successfully.

I will be trying the solution @maheshmuz offered above.  Where I would copy the installation the first print agent and use it for the second.

Thanks.

@maheshmuz  Your suggestion worked.  I was able to copy my first print agent installation and modify  it for the second installation.  I appreciate you help.  @knepiosko as well.  Thanks to you both.
