HI, we have the IFS Print Agent for Apps 10 running on a Windows 2019 server. We now wish to create a setup for this on 2 windows servers that will allow for failover between them, in case of  server failure or when server maintenance / patching etc is required, as our printing needs to be running 24/7.
Does the IFS print agent support Windows server failover, and if so, are there any specifc requirements or settings that need to be taken into consideration to set this up. We would set it up so only one of the print agents was active at any one time.

Thanks for any information on this.

Hi @BEYJJOYCE ,

This is technically possible and i would recommened below approach  to achive this.

  • Setup identical Print Agents in two separte servers sith same Print Agent name and same set of printers with same configurations on the ifs-printagent-Config.xml.
  • During a disaster once the production print agent fails set to manually start the backup server should to the trick.
You may need to consider on request timeouts. Decresing the request timeouts will  improve the failover times.
