when creating a user in IFS Cloud,

for User-Type,  you can select End User / Service User

for End User , I know it is a normal Aurena user with username / password.

while, what is a “Serviec User”? what is used for?

does it a dummy user for Intergration(eg: with Dell Boomi )?

or it means an “After Service” user for matainix only?

Thanks,

Hi,

Service Users are used when creating new IAM Clients ( for Client Credential Flow).

Best regards,

Ravi

Hi @Shou,

Service users are used for integrations, mainly for authentication. Have a look at the documentation regarding service users, which can be found here:

https://docs.ifs.com/techdocs/22r1/030_administration/010_security/010_users/#service-users

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your answer.

Just would like to know,  in practise , for intergraion with external system (SAP, MES , WMS)

which user will we use?

  1. Service User -  Client Credential Flow
  2. End User -  ROPC Flow

why I ask is , for most of the API (eg: shop order, customer order),

by default it will return the data that a End User can see.

if we use Service User(Client Credential Flow) , it always returns a blank info

Hi @Shou ,

Did you grant the companies, sites, ect to the service user. For me it is working fine with client flow.

Best regards,

Ravi

@Ravi De Silva

Thanks, after assign the company.  I also see my datas.

Hello, I’m having the same issue.  Did you just assign companies to the service user and then data appeared?  I’ve assigned companies but am still seeing no data.
