Hi,

We have our IFS Application server on windows 2016 server and yesterday we disabled SMBv1 protocol on the windows server. Today we are seeing tons of open ports in TIME WAIT mode and # of open ports maxing out. we rebooted twice so far with Ports climbing up after reboot. It’s almost like IFS is not releasing the port or something? Does anyone know if disabling SMBv1 protocol can cause this kind of behavior??

Hi @psusarla ,

According to the current information available internally at IFS, our R&D conducted testing on older (including versions APPS8 and 9) as well as current versions of IFS apps at the time when the Ransomware "WannaCrypt" was reported. They haven't found any adverse effects from disabling SMBv1.

Hence, from our perspective, it is safe to disable SMBv1. Furthermore, I could not find any reported incidents of any issues after disabling SMBv1 internally at IFS.

Thanks,

Kasun

Thanks for your response! this rules out disabling of SMB1 causing our issues.
