IFS Apps 8 Cloud Hosting

Morning,

We currently have our IFS Apps 8 environment and database hosted on premise, however our servers are out of support in mid-2021. The business has therefore asked the question whether we could migrate our Apps 8 environment to the cloud most probably our own Microsoft Azure cloud.

We use IFS MWO and PSO (360) as an additional layer to the core Middle ware server.

Are there any customers who have their Apps 8 environment successfully running in a cloud environment or went through a similar migration? 

If so, any advise or considerations would be appreciated.

I think @alackas has made a similar migration, but they’re no longer on version 8.

In May of 2020 Cleaver Brooks took our entire IFS on-premise environment and moved it to the Cloud.   We are using AWS not Azure  and were on applications 9, not 8,  but the principals are the same.   All servers for Database, App, Crystal Reports, Print, and so on are now running on own AWS Cloud.   We did this for multiple reasons   One was to get more processing power,  another was easier backup and redundancies, and also our datacenter was based in southern Georgia.  We were starting to have more occurrences with Hurricane types of issues.  If you have any questions or comments feel free to reach out.
