Hi @12gAshanD
in Aurena 22R1 IALs are available but one day they will be deprecated. I heard it in a IFS online webinar also. If you want to upgrade to IFS Cloud I recommend you don’t create new IALs there.

Hi,
“one day”, like @Link has written = “22R2” :)

When IALs are no longer supported, what should be used then?
If I remember correctly IFS recommended to use information sources instead of IALs.

Hi!
In the 22r2 technical documentation (https://docs.ifs.com/techdocs/22r2/) you can find the following chapters:
Create Information Access Layer Objects - Technical Documentation For IFS Cloud
In the section reagrding configuring tabular models in 22r2 in IFS Analysis Services the following comments can be read:
- Ways of creating source views in schema:

By design and the new technologies we follow the deprecation notice from IFS https://docs.ifs.com/techdocs/21r1/foundation1/010_overview/255_br_and_a/070_information_access_layer/ and suggest to use different approaches in IFS Cloud to fullfil their requirement.
Of course a clear statement would stop confusing customers.
Last but not least. The documentation is saying something, and the 22R2 products provides, are two different things. I think the documentation was just updated with the news but old things not removed. Lets see when 22R2 comes out.
Hi @12gAshanD
When a feature is called “depreciated”, it means the feature is no longer recommended to be used and the feature will be removed in the future release. We cannot tell when but they will be removed.
So, to answer your question, if in the docs of 21R1, it is written that it is “depreciated”, it means it is not recommended to use. Which doesn’t means that they are removed in 21R1 itself. IALs are fully functional in 21R1.
The depreciated features are always fully functional till the version it is not removed and you can use them, no one can stop you.
But since the feature is tagged as depreciated and will be removed in the future, one should also stop using it because it will not be transferrable to future versions.
Alternative can be custom views, and lets see what 22R2 offers!
Thanks.
Can confirm IALs are available with full functionality in 22R2.
