Question

How to rearrange elements on a page after adding a group through developer studio?

Forum|alt.badge.img+12

I added a new group to our Customer Order page by customizing the Customer Order Client through Developer Studio. After saving and deploying, the new group is now located all the way at the bottom of the page.

How can I move the new group to a specific spot using Developer Studio? (it needs to be between two groups. These two groups are located in the core file)

I’m guessing it’s going to be an Override but I can’t seem to find the documentation on how to rearrange a mix of custom elements and core elements on a page.

Hi @jamie.malangyaon,

If I understood your query correctly, you can move the Page element(s)/Groups through the 6 vertical dots available in the Page Designer against each section.

Please refer to the screenshot below.

By Default, Our ID at Customer section is sat at botton of the page.

We can set this section above the General Information section by simply dragging up using the 6 vertical dots.

Hope this helps.

Hi @Abdul thanks for the reply! However, I am looking to find a way through IFS Developer Studio, not the Page Designer

you’d probably need to add those elements in your original override to replicate the order you want them to be displayed in.

In short, even if you haven’t strictly speaking modified those core elements, you probably need to include them in your override of the page itself to place them in the order you desire (with your custom group placed before, or between the core elements)

@SimonTestard thanks for the suggestion! I tried this and unfortunately, my new group is still showing up at the bottom of the page, rather than between two core groups.

Overtake the whole Form and slot it in where you want it.

E.g.  here I have added a custom list to the page in between other elements

Just bear in mind, being an Overtake, it may require a couple of minutes each update/upgrade to review to ensure IFS haven’t added or changed anything on that page.
