Hi All,
Have you applied 24R2 Release Update and was it successful?
I got lots of questions from the customer regarding ‘failure’ scenario.
Example: 
Assume we intend to apply 24R2 RU to CFG.
1.What will happen if something goes wrong in CFG where specially data deletions owing to some kind of table changes from RnD? I know this is a possibility and RU will have necessary scripts to transfer data to new tables but for the sake of argument, would like to present this scenario as well.
2.Is it possible to rollback a RU after applying to a single environment and fully reinstate the environment (for example CFG) to previous state?
3.How long will it take to reinstate to the previous state ( in our case 24R1 SU5)?
4.Does IFS recommend a database backup before a Release Update?

I have not applied the 24R2 yet.

But if something goes wrong in CFG due to Core product, you need to report to IFS support and request a fix that will be probably in next service update and need to wait. if its highly business critical to proceed , you may request a hot fix but cannot make sure you will get it as hot fix .

as Release apply is handle in release studio and if you install in only one environment, you can restore that environment using  a back up within two weeks as I know. But you cannot do revert from release studio. that needs a special request and i doubt still its possible.

Usually IFS take different type of back ups including ful back ups. But if need you can request to back up before install release. 

I have no idea about the time it takes to restore.
