Hi All, I’m trying to change the passwords for IFSADMIN and IFSPRINT via the installer so I can get the encrypted passwords to pass on to Crystal Reports. The error message I’m getting is;

Password validation: ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied.

I’ve already successfully done this in the development environment (both environments had the same passwords).

I know I’m connecting to the correct environment as I’m getting a different error if the account is locked. The old password is also correct, as I get a different error if I put it in incorrectly and I’ve verified it by connecting to the database. Both IFSADMIN and IFSPRINT accounts give the same error message when trying to change.

The Oracle error is somewhat generic and I haven’t been able to chase down the cause and find a solution.

Hi AshT,

Yes we found the work around. Instead of selecting changing System user passwords you need to select Reconfigure, don’t change anything except the passwords and you should have no issues.
