Delivery ID Naming Convention

Just out of curiosity, I would like to understand the naming convention for deliveries in IFS Cloud. We received a delivery to apply in one of our customer’s environments and found odd that the ID was changed from 3.X.X to 4.X.X although they both were created in the same product version, as you can see in the picture below:

 

 

 

 I thought the first number changed only when applying Release Updates…

The first number in IFS Cloud delivery packages does not strictly correspond to product release updates. Instead, it indicates the internal delivery baseline or version stream. Therefore, it is possible to have different major delivery versions (e.g., 3.X.X and 4.X.X) within the same product version (such as 25.2.3), as these represent separate iterations or rebuilds of the delivery content rather than changes in the platform version.
