Hi all,

in which cases does IFS create such custom views if we create a custom field?

I don’t understand the numer (IN289872778).

Usually I expect something like Inventory_Part_In_Stock_CFV.

Hi @Link

Probably this comes from Oracle 12.1 limitations where database object name is limited to 30 charactes. Since that custom code generation process truncate object names.

IFS dictionary cache functionallity also strongly affect object names.

Hi @knepiosko

but sometimes I have two custom views:

For example:

inventory_part_in289872778_cfv
inventory_part_in_stock_cfv

And both are the same.

In the first case instead of “_stock” it generated a number.

Is that really a feature?

Hi @Link

Probably inventory_part_in289872778_cfv view name does not correspond with customer_order_inv_part standard view. For details look into procedure Custom_Obj_SYS.Ensure_Short_Object_Name__

OK thank you.

But there is no way to disable this, right?

Hi

Since Oracle 12.1 is not supported with IFS10 version there is no Oracle software limitation to change this. In the other hands changing IFS cache functionalities will make big effort to reimplement this.

Try to report it as a standard bug.

Thank you @knepiosko

then I am going to create an IFS case. I will update you if I have an answer from IFS.
