Dear community.
Does anyone know if (In Apps9 UPD15) you can make a Custom field behave like standard IFS field, say for example Part No. Whereby you can free type a Part No in, or select it from the List of Values?
When i create a reference part no field, it only allows LoV, not free text input.

If you want free text and don’t mind losing the list of values, you can set it up as free text and validate the user’s entry with a custom event.

The LOV dialog for a reference custom field supports saved searches, and you can configure the dialog to default to a particular saved search. You might consider a saved search that prompts for a part number, then does a wildcard search against that. It would save a few keystrokes.
Sadly, same problem still exists in Apps 10 (UPD 11).
