Hi,

Has anyone got and recommendations for a Crystal Reports scheduler they use?

Need it to automatically email out Crystal reports - and possibly for the date parameters to change daily

Thanks, Callum

Hey mate,

We use the tool from https://www.groffautomation.com for past 4 years or so. Apart from a few bugs, it has gotten us thus far reliably. We use it for about 100 scheduled reports ranging from KPI to daily reports. For the date parameters to change daily, reckon you will need to change the CR to accept a blank input which would internally translate to sysdate.

Hi @CallumW,

I would recommend https://milletsoftware.com/Visual_CUT.htm this is a report scheduling, bursting engine with full SMTP email capabilities.

Its cost effective (dirt cheap), very intuitive and you’ll be up and running in just a few hours.

Good luck,

Pete

We have a scheduler for Crystal reports. You can find more information here: http://r-tag.com/Pages/RTagScheduler.aspx

We already have a few customers who are using our software with IFS and they can provide recommendations. In fact, I found this post because I noticed that we have few customers who mentioned IFS in their emails to us. As far as I know, in addition of scheduling reports for internal use, R-Tag Crystal Scheduler is used for scenarios such as automating the process of sending statements directly to customers. We support data driven schedules, where you can define a SQL query and retrieve a list of customers with additional information like customer contact name, email, etc. The software will loop through the list, generate a PDF, Excel (or any other supported format) statement for each customer and send it by email to the email in the list. Data driven processing is also useful for event-based reports, when a report should be generated when a value in the database changes. We also support bursting, which is another way to generate multiple documents.

Of course, data driven and bursting are just options. You can use the scheduler just to send or generate and save some reports. As far as I know our scheduler is the only one to provide a visual interface for scheduling, so there is almost no learning curve.

Scheduling a new job is as simple as creating a new appointment in Outlook or Google Calendar.

Please feel free to contact me using http://r-tag.com/Pages/Contacts . I can provide more information about the product and contact info for IFS customers who already use our software so you can discuss their experience with R-Tag.

Best regards,

Peter

P.S. BTW, no purchase is required. We have a free version here: http://r-tag.com/Pages/CommunityEdition.aspx

It doesn’t support data driven schedules , but supports many of the advanced features: bursting, advanced exports to Excel,  export to multiple Excel worksheets, export to Excel 2007 and above (over 64k rows) , advanced PDF with signatures etc. Also, all our versions, including the free version, support relative dates, which will allow you to set dates like “the last day of the previous month” , “first day of the next quarter” etc. No changes in the report are required and no need to remember special commands and words. Here is how you set the parameter value to 2 days before the end of the last quarter
