Has anyone set-up Print servers hosted in the Azure cloud, or know if this is possible? Asking for a friend.

Hi @James Targett ,

Assuming you are talking about Print Agent, what is the use case for this? Print agents are supposed to be installed closer to the physical printer rather than the hosting servers.

Cheers

Yes, Print Agent.

Our version of IFS Apps 10 is hosted as part of the IFS Managed Cloud Service. We have a 3rd party company who is co-packing products for us, currently on a legacy system which we are replacing with IFS.

We are looking at options for network topology - either they have to connect into our network or we have to extend our network to them, The preferred solution, if was possible, is to keep this all in the cloud. Which is why we are asking the question is this technically possible and/or has anyone else hosted their Print Agents in Azure cloud?

Hi @James Targett ,

I don’t have any experience with setting this up but as long as you map the printer from an Azure VM, i don’t see why you will not be able to do what you are trying to do. Given that setting up a print agent is relatively straight forward, probably worth doing a quick test to see if there are any blockers. After all, all you need for the agent setup is to have a VM running Windows 2019 that has access to the printer as well as access to the IFS URL.

Cheers.
