A. What is your idea?
1) Classification
Opportunity for improvement
2) Brief description
Currently, in IFS Cloud, add-on/custom entities appear to be available in Query Designer only when Row-Level Security (RLS) is configured for the entity.
This creates a limitation when customers want to create QuickSite reports using add-on/custom entities that do not require Row-Level Security from a business or technical perspective.
The improvement request is to allow add-on/custom entities without RLS to be displayed and used in Query Designer, provided the user has the required access/permissions.
B. Context and scope
1) Who is affected?
Customers
2) Frequency
This issue can occur whenever customers create add-on/custom entities and try to use them in Query Designer or QuickSite reports.
3) Product area / functionality affected
Query Designer
QuickSite / Quick Sight Reports
4) Current behavior
Entities without Row-Level Security configuration are not displayed under All Entities in Query Designer.
Because of this, users cannot select those entities when creating Query Designer artifacts, and therefore cannot create QuickSite reports based on those entities.
5) Expected behavior
Add-on/custom entities should be available in Query Designer even when Row-Level Security is not configured, as long as the user has the correct access rights.
Alternatively, an administrative configuration option could be provided to control whether non-RLS entities are exposed in Query Designer.
This improvement would help customers create QuickSite reports more easily using their custom/add-on data models.
