Hi @Vishmala,

It's been a while since I've used IFS Applications 10, but if memory serves me right, while there's no direct "half-day holiday" checkbox in the Substitute Schedule, you can simulate one by adjusting the working hours for the specific date.

📍 To do this:

  1. Navigate to the relevant Working Hours Schedule, then open the Substitute Schedule tab (see screenshot below).

  2. Add the date you want to modify.

  3. Instead of setting the day as a Holiday, define it as a Work Day with reduced hours — for example, 08:00 to 12:00 if it’s a morning half-day.

This allows the system to treat it as a partial working day, which works well for planning and availability purposes.

⚠️ A couple of notes:

  • If this setup affects payroll, project planning, or capacity planning, it’s worth validating the behavior with your business rules and any integrated systems.

  • Be sure to coordinate with HR/Payroll, especially if it impacts how time is calculated or approved.

Hope this helps!

Hi,

Thank you for the answer.

I did try :

*create a list of date in Subsitute Schedule page

*attribute to it the Day Type I have creatr for this purpose = half day time

*attribute this substitute schedule to my schedule

But when I open Time registration my planning for these days is still full day time.

What do I miss?

Thank you in advance.

Hi @Vishmala, as I mentioned it’s been a while since I’ve used this, though it looks like there’s some more steps I’m unsure if you’ve got them in the back end, one comes to mind is the Cycle Schedule and the Day-by-Day Schedule. They are listed in this IFS documentation.

Though, according to one user, they mentioned (using IFS Cloud) that it would be done using Employee Schedule and Rules (it’s also located in IFS Apps 10) within the IFS Community. However, IFS documentation says that it’s done through Substitute Schedule.

Here’s a few more links:

Hope these references will give you some better guidance.
