I’m trying to set up a testpoint/parameter and don’t know what value type to assign to it.

Can someone please explain the Parameter Value Types and how they are used?

testpoints are used to simple group parameters that are alike in the same group.
Parameters - are the actual things that you will measure - temperature / pressure / running hrs
Easiest way is to setup a Parameter Template with the needed test points and parameters assigned to each test point and then just apply the template to your objects.
Below you can see an example of such a Parameter Template.
