I have a question around Standard Cost and Inventory value per period.  We are using standard cost for our valuation method, and I would expect that the inventory value per period unit cost would equal cost set 1 for all parts, but I am seeing several parts that are not equal.  I have started to dig into the issue, but I have not had much luck understanding why the unit cost in inventory value per period keeps changing each month.  Any ideas?   I am thinking maybe it is a part or company setting that might have be reviewed.  Thanks in advance for your support.   Bob

Hi,

In the inventory valuation - value per period, the unit values are calculated.  It takes the total value divided by quantity. In older releases, it’s rare but we have seen examples where the values are no longer correct.   Support in US has experience with tools / scripts to correct inventory valuation.

I don’t know how or why it can create differences, but it has in very rare cases.

In a not so recent client example, inventory was migrated incorrectly (scripts were used to update quantities and other) causing IFS not to work as it should, and we had SE in support run process to fix.

It may be best to log a support case, maybe suggesting a need for data repair.

Best regards,

Thomas
