'Sum' Option for 'Account' Field

In Apps9 when working with the Consolidation Period Balance Analysis one of our users is asking if the ‘Account’ field can be enabled with a ‘Sum’ option. Currently it has ‘Group’ and ‘Sum’ available. Other fields within the same menu have ‘Group’, ‘Sum’, ‘Avg’, ‘Highest’, ‘Lowest’ and ‘Count’.  Does anyone know if the ‘Sum’ option is available for the ‘Account’ field and if so how to enable it?

Thank you

You can’t sum by Account (not that column) because it is a text column, you can only sum numeric type columns either qty or amount.  On that view, if you want to sum the amount in a set or series of accounts, you would apply the Sum function to the Amount column of choice and the Group function to the Account column.  Then you could add in the series or set of Accounts to filter to if desired.

Sum is going to only work on these columns on that view.

Hi,

Could you please clarify the expected outcome when summing up accounts?

For instance is accounts are as follows

0011 0012 0013 0014

Is the expected results summing up the account numbers or the account balances?
