Recommended Accounts for M3 & M4 Postings

I think for posting types M3 and M4 you should not use an account which is already connected to M1. This might cause an imbalance depending on the inventory part setup and parameter on the company. You should use a control account under inventory account group.

The parameter below decides clearing of M3 imbalance. Here is field descriptipn.

Use Transit Balance Postings
Determines whether balancing postings are to be created between inventory (M1) and transit (M3) posting types. When using the inventory valuation methods: Weighted Average, First In First Out (FIFO), or Last In First Out (LIFO), an imbalance can appear between M1 and M3. By using these posting types the imbalance can be cleared.

You can always check STD template how IFS would propose of setting some posting controls. And apply this to your company with your local CoA.
