Posting Control/Ledger Account Issue

Hello,

 

I am trying to make what I thought was a minor change to one of the posting controls in IFS Cloud.

 

In posting control IP1, I added a new supplier group and added Other Creditors as the Account.

 

An error message appeared saying that the Other Creditors account is not a ledger account, so cannot be used in IP1.

 

In the Accounts screen, I tried to edit this account (which is not being used) to make it a ledger account, but another message appeared saying “You cannot modify or delete if the account is used in the wait table or in the general ledger.

 

I’ve selected the button to exclude from the GL, just to see if it worked, but the same message appeared.

 

There are no transactions relating to this account in the hold table (I don’t know if the “Wait Table” is a different thing altogether.


Is anyone able to assist please?

Hi,

Wait Table or Hold Table is the Same. Any Finance Transaction when created is intially saved in a location Called Wait or Hold Table. Then when you do General Ledger (GL) Transfer those transactions will be pushed to General Ledger

It seems the Account that you are trying to use for IP1 Posting does have entries against it and it may be checked using GL Balance Analysis (select include Hold Table option)

“Exclude from Project Follow up” is not a relevent option, it is to do with Projects.

Only way out of this is to have Technical Help to Change the Ledger Account - Check (to Yes) from the Back End if you want to use the Same Account. (once changed you cannot use the Account for Manual Voucher Entries) and this needs to be requested and Done by the Solution Implementor  Only (IFS or Partner)

Or You have to create a New Account and use it (with Ledger Account Check On)

For any account to be used in posting control, it is mandatory to mark it as ledger account in account page. Once entries are posted in any account it is not possible to toggle the ledger account from front end. This could only be done from back end using developer tools.
