When the user runs the depreciation for Jan month the residual value comes in the proposal instead of depreciation amount, due to which depreciation finished for all objects in the month of Jan even life of the object is not over. Is there any setup issue or do we have any work around to help to close the month

Something must be wrong with lifetime or depreciation method. It is difficult to comment without seeing your setup.

There were a few patches created for this error in APPS10 and please see if below will be in any assistance,
- UPD10 - Objects are not fully depreciated in both accounting currency and parallel currency when a depreciation method with a factor is used.
- UPD11 - Incorrect net object value in parallel currency
- Workaround is to manually modify the depreciation amounts in the proposal before posting.
- UPD14 - Objects fully depreciate and generate residual transaction when Acquisition Amount in Parallel Currency is zero
- Workaround is not know

You may check the base value used in depreciation method selected for your object. Because salvage value is considering if you use ‘Modified Acquisition value’ as base value for the depreciation method. Refer below screen preview for easy reference.
