Is it possible to push updates to invoice posting authorizer groups to existing invoices?

When making changes to the Invoice Posting Authorizer Groups, is there an automatic update task that can be run to update existing invoice posting proposals to display the new authorizer and update the Invoices to Authorize page?

I start by updating the Authorizer Group:

 

Then navigating to an existing posting proposal with pending authorization that is assigned to the same group:

 

When I view Authorizer Group Members, the changes do not seem to have been carried over:

 

The system will still let me authorize the posting proposal, however this invoice does not appear on Invoices to Authorize page:

 

The only way I can resolve this is by manually changing the authorizer on the posting proposal and pointing it back to the same Authorizer Group, but due to the volume of invoices that are processed, this is not really a feasible solution. 

Whilst I appreciate that new invoices will reflect the updated authorizer group, we still need existing invoices to be updated when a user has left the business or responsibilities are being reallocated.

Has anyone else encountered this issue?  If so, what have you done to fix this?

Hi,

There is unfortunately no way to automatically update existing invoices with the design we have today.

Hi Linda,

I just wanted to add some weight to this request. When authorisers move teams, any invoices currently awaiting their approval end up stuck because the system doesn’t automatically update or reassign them.

With around 15,000 supplier invoices going through each month, this can quickly create a backlog and adds a lot of manual work to keep things moving. An automated update task or similar functionality to reassign authorisers would make a big difference in managing the approval process more efficiently.

Definitely something that would be worth considering for a future enhancement.

Hi,

I fully understand the problem, but unfortunately I am not in a position to do anything about this. You have to submit an idea in community and hope it will be prioritized in an upcoming release.
