We have received a Support case from a customer who has a user that works on 8 different companies at a given time on IFS Cloud. (ie. UK Company on browser tab 1, US Company in browser tab 2, Italian Company on browser tab 3, Swedish Company on browser tab 4, and so on)

They have recently upgraded from 24R1 to 24R2, and the user claims that the ability to move between different pages (within a tab) without reverting to default company is no longer available in the new version. (ie. Default Company for the user is UK Company and has Manual Supplier Invoice screen for US company on browser tab 1. When they navigate to Mixed Payment screen, the Company reverts to UK company)

Generally, when you navigate to a new screen/window in IFS, the Company defaults to the global setting, and it has the same behavior in App10 too.

What workaround or advice can other users of IFS share with us, in terms of navigating between different pages and how the Company selector works, so that this user could find a solution to their problem?

I understand the concern regarding the change in behavior observed after upgrading from IFS Cloud 24R1 to 24R2—specifically, the issue where the company context resets to the default company when navigating between pages within the same browser tab.

As confirmed, this behavior aligns with standard system functionality in IFS, including earlier versions such as Apps 10. When navigating to a new screen or window, the company context typically defaults back to the user's global/default company unless maintained within the same flow.

Recommended Workaround:

To effectively work across multiple companies simultaneously, we suggest the following:

  • Use Separate Browser Instances or Profiles:
Instead of using multiple tabs in the same browser window, users can launch separate browser windows using different profiles or guest sessions. Most modern browsers (e.g., Chrome, Edge) support this functionality.

This mirrors how, in IFS Apps 10, users worked in multiple IEE windows opened from the Landing Page for different companies.

  • Set the Desired Company in Each Browser Window:
Within each browser session, the user can select the required company and click on “Apply changes to all pages.” This ensures that the selected company context is retained throughout that particular browser session, even when navigating between different screens or windows.

  • Quick Access via Bookmarks (Optional):
To save time, users may also bookmark frequently used pages for specific companies and open them in separate profiles to directly access the correct context.

We hope this approach helps resolve the user's concern. Should you require a walkthrough or any further assistance, please feel free to reach out.
