I have a question about the cost center as logical code part, I heard from a colleague that it will be mandatory if we use the manufacturing module.
What is the real advantage of using cost center accounting and finance speaking ? Is it indeed mandatory for manufacturing module ?

As far I know, code part demands are connected to Accounts.
So, if the accounts involved in manufacturing flow don’t require Cost Center, you don’t have to enter that info.

Logical code part cost center is used in couple of areas in the application. For example, if you want to trace activity based costing then cost center code part should be set up with logical account type cost center. One other functionality is on the maintenance. If you want to trace maintenance objects with a cost center then you must have logical account type cost center. Otherwise cost center information will not be enabled for selecting on the object.
