Change description of code part value

Forum|alt.badge.img+2

Hello,  I am trying to amend the description of a GL code via code part values. I can amend it and then save it however no-one else can see the change when they run a GL download - it still shows the old description. Am I missing a step somewhere? Thanks

Hi Caroline,

It is also worth checking which languages you and the other users are using - I have seen occasions before that some users have the language “en” and others have “gb”. If this is the case, then you would need to go to Translation from the Code Part Values screen (pre-Cloud it’s a Right Mouse Button on the Code Part Value itself, or in Cloud if you use the … and then select Translation).

From here, you will be able to update the translations in other languages.

If it is the case that some users are using en and others are using gb, then I would recommend a wider activity to check whether this differentiation is needed, or whether all users could use the same language in future.

Thanks,
Chris

Hi Mihirip, I made the change a couple of weeks ago and it shows the change correct for me however, not for the rest of the Finance Team. I am playing around in the test environment and was wondering if I needed to ‘run code string completion’ so I have done that and all that seems to happen is it changes it back for me to the old description.
