Hi,
Branch set up is easy. The question then becomes is that “really” the correct solution?
Brach set up - (from an older version - It’s what I’m in now).
Then we need to connect a branch to a site.
The branch is connected to a site in the below screen.
Branch is then seen in certain IFS screens related to invoices and other.
From my experience Branch usage is not overly common. It works fine but may not be the correct tool for a given need.
Best regards
is that common way on IFS Cloud22R1?
is it works same on cloud version?
I guess it using by the user as site on the IFS
actually, we need the create a record to this site ( branch ) by different organization
we have 2 companies and 1 site ( branch)
2 different compainies should create record to only 1 branch
Hi,
The screens in IFS Cloud are very similar but different, and the process works the same.
You can have multiple Branches, even when 1 site, but then IFS can’t “automatically” assign the correct Branch to the invoices from a given site. When we connect a branch to a site, IFS can then automatically assign a branch to certain records / transactions.
A site record in IFS is connected to only 1 company.
can I connecto to 1 branch to 2 sites?
or 1 site to 2 branchs?
Hi,
Assume BR1, BR2 and S-A, S-B, S-C Sites A, B, and C).
Sites A and B can be connected to BR1.
Site C can then be connected to Site C.
Different example =
Site A cannot be connected to BR1 and BR2. “Manually” BR 1 or BR2 can be connected to invoices from Site A, but that’s not ideal.
Best regards
thanks thomas, really appreciate
Hi,
Absolutely no problem. Hope this works for you.
I’ll try that as soon as possible, then I’ll let u know
I have one more question:
Can I create different accounting plan on 2 branchs? or they are works on 1 accounting plan?
Hi,
Branch functionality is rather limited. This is why its usage is not overly common.
So… If I understand what your asking - I would say no, Branch cannot do that. It was not designed to do what I believe you're asking.
If I think of an accounting plan, I would envision a different code part that represents a different way to group the accounting results. Then posting control with the available control types would drive the data as needed. Branch would not fit that process.
IFS has 10 code parts. That provides a significant number of options.
Best regards
