Hi,

I am looking for clarification on the expected behavior when using the Purchase Order supply code with the ‘To Service Location’ delivery method.

My understanding is that when this delivery method is used, the system automatically generates a warehouse if no warehouse exists for the address specified on the request task. The warehouse is created using the next available warehouse ID in the sequence.

Additionally, if a warehouse has already been generated previously for the same address through this process, the system correctly reuses the existing warehouse instead of creating a new one.

However, I have encountered a different scenario:

  • I manually created a remote warehouse for a service location.
  • The warehouse was configured with the address type Geolocation and assigned the same address that I intend to use on the request task. A Default inventory location exists and my user is also connected to the warehouse.
  • I then created a request task using that same address ID.
  • When I created material demand with Supply Code = Purchase Order and Delivery Method = To Service Location, the system returned the error:

"Warehouse does not exist."

Based on my understanding, I would have expected the system to identify and use the manually created warehouse associated with the same address.

Could you please clarify whether this is the intended behavior or potentially a product defect?
