Question

Unexpected Next Survey Triggering on Mobile Survey Execution

Forum|alt.badge.img+6

We are encountering an issue in our Installation Report workflow related to the picture capture sequence within the associated surveys. Below are the details:

Surveys Involved:

  • 857 — Installation data capture with initial pictures

  • 858 — Contains the “More Equipment?” question after picture capture

  • 316 — Additional picture capture survey triggered when required

Issue Description:
As per the expected behavior:

  • The system should allow the user to capture 4 pictures in Survey 857

  • Then prompt the user via Survey 858 asking if they want to capture 4 more pictures

    • If the user selects Yes, Survey 316 should start for the next set of 4 pictures

    • If the user selects No, the survey should end

Current Observed Behavior:

We have configured the Next Survey field in the answer options as follows:

  • For the ‘Yes’ option, we have added Survey 316 in the Next Survey field.

  • For the ‘No’ option, we have kept the Next Survey field blank.

However, while testing the survey on the mobile app, we observed that:

  • When selecting ‘Yes’, it correctly navigates to Survey 316.

  •  When selecting ‘No’, it is also navigating to Survey 316, even though the Next Survey field for this option is blank.

Please find the attachment of the survey screens

@aishwarya

Why is the answer is ‘S’ and not ‘Y’? Did you try changing it?

Cheers!

Hi @Shneor Cheshin ,

Thanks for the response

Actually, this configuration was done by someone else for the LATAM side. I have not made any changes to it. Do I need to modify this?

But when i am testing in the survey screen by clicking TEST SURVEY button condition is working fine.

Hi @aishwarya

I think you should try the values of ‘Y’ and ‘N’.

If someone from LATAM configured it, I guess they got confused with ‘Si’ instead of ‘Yes’.

Cheers!

Hi @Shneor Cheshin

I have tried with ‘Y’ but still it’s not working. Getting same error.

Could you please suggest any other possible approach?

Thank you

@aishwarya

Another option is to change to a ‘ComboBox’ control instead of a checkbox.

Otherwise, I would open a support ticket.

Cheers!

Hi @Shneor Cheshin

In our configuration we are using ‘ComboBox’ control.

@aishwarya

Another thought

In Survey 858, you have only 1 question.

What is expected when answering ‘N’? As I understand it, there is nowhere to go after that.

You need to add another question or redirect to another sub-survey.

Cheers!

Hi @Shneor Cheshin

Thank You for the Response.

As per the current requirement, if the user selects ‘N’ in Survey 858, the survey should finish immediately without proceeding further.

@aishwarya

Just for testing, try adding a text field. Something like ‘Survey End’.

Then test again.

Cheers!
