Question

Task Status changes based on Geofencing

We need to set a flag on task based on the ARRIVED status if that is within the customer’s geofencing area.

However, in theory it should work using basic setup, while it is not working practically.

Any pointers please?

@Lee Pinchbeck  @Paul Drennan  here I am trying to setup BR 138, but it is not working. Is there any example that was already implemented?

Hi @promartat,

I would suggest as a first step to track the location update as it goes through the system e.g. is the person record updating with the correct location, set a watch on the BR and confirm if it is triggering etc.

Kind regards,

Lee Pinchbeck

Hi,

This is something i’m currently looking into.

As per the title, to drive a Task Status change when the technician leave a location and starts to travel to the next location. I’m looking to get the Task to go On Route.

Is there any documentation around setting this rule up?

@AdrianEgley - just wondering if you are came up with a solution to the subject of the title of this thread?  We are starting to go down the road of exploring auto task progression based on geofencing and hoping someone has already has a working model for this.  Curious on an update.

Cheers,

Richard

@RiSpence

Hi,

Unfortunately not. I think when I looked at this we realised that the OS on the Mobile Devices we are using was stopping Geo Updates back to FSM. I think there was some security feature released in possibly Android 12 or 13 that prevents the updates from happening.

I never really progressed this at all.
