Task Release Without Releasing Parent Request in IFS Service Management

  • I have created a request with status New after providing all required information. Under this request, I have created a connected task (Task ID: 351) with all mandatory details.
  • Is there any standard functionality in IFS Service Management that allows me to release the task independently, while keeping the request in new status.
  • In other words, can a task be released without releasing the parent request?

@Ramu Gangineni this would not be possible. Releasing the Request Work Task will always Release the Scope and Request.

What would be the scenario where you would need this behaviour?

Hi,

To my knowledge, there is no such functionality, and the question itself seems somewhat unusual. I’d like to understand the actual customer scenario you’re trying to address—if possible could you please elaborate on the functional outcome you’re aiming to achieve?

Best Regards,
Dilani
