Can we restrict a a role from providing a specific role to himself or anyone else??

You can look at the functions tab under role screen and see if you find anything useful there.
Another way is to remove the ‘Role’ tab from the person screen and assign that screen to the role you wish to restrict.

The way we solved this in our business is by restricting the access that would allow a person to change their roles.
in our case; there are 2 places where a ROLE can be assigned/updated
- Person screen, Role Tab
- Role screen
to restrict the Person Screen, Role Tab, we identified the “View id” of the tab.
Then in role permissions, we set that view to “Disabled”
then to disable the “Role” screen, we control that by Function
