According to the IFS documentation, it's possible to rename a part serial linked to a serial object when it's listed as "In Inventory." To enable this, we used the "Move to Inventory" option. A work order was generated, and we completed the return process. The serial object's status was successfully updated.
However, despite the part and serial now being in inventory, the rename operation is still failing. The error is “the serial exists in inventory and cannot be renamed” .. Are we missing any step once the serial is returned ??
