We have been presented with a challenge to integrate IFS FSM6 with ServiceNow.

I believe that due to company security policies we cannot integrate directly and need to use middleware or Saas like Boomi.

 

We need to integrate both Incident work orders and asset information.

Is this a difficult thing to do? Is a lot of development work needed and is there a need for a lot of FSM support?

Any advice, guidance or support would be geatly appreciated. :-)

It would be difficult to comment on the development without defining a solution document/feasibility check.

But in according to information in ServiceNow web they do have a set of APIs which you can use to send data from FSM6. And to get data into FSM6 you can use out of the box IFS Connect APIs or you can define a custom integration map. Which can be done via configurations without the needing for code customizations.

Also, if there is a requirement to use Boomi, from what i know, you can use that to do some of the data manipulations and take some work away from FSM.
