Dears,

Please suggest if FSM6 and PSO can be migrated from Windows VMs to Cloud platforms like AWS or Alibaba or any other specific cloud platform?

Thanks in advance

Hi STC team,

We have discussed the above concern with FSM and PSO R&D team here are there response.

FSM R&D Response:- “Not possible. FSM works on Azure cloud platform only .”

PSO R&D Response:- “They are not in standard support by R&D, so compatibility is not verified. But that doesn't restrict using those platforms in customer's discretion. For example, one of the IFS on-premise customers is using the Google Cloud Platform.
But R&D is not bound to do any enhancements to support those platforms if they find any issues in midway of the implementation.

Therefore, there is no official guidance available to support any cloud platform other than Azure. If the customer is willing to migrate to a different cloud platform, they will need to handle it on their own.

Also, please note that the official documentation for implementing or upgrading Azure installations—whether for FSM or PSO—can be found within each software product package. Please refer to the following folder paths format:

FSM: C:\<FSMPackage-root-directory>\mxserv6uXX\mxserv\Documentation\Install-Upgrade

PSO:  C:\<PSOPackage-root-directory>\6.xx.x.xx\Documentation

I hope this information is sufficient and helpful to you.

Thanks & Best Regards,

Hi @marty_stc,

a little bit more input on this:

Both, FSM and PSO Installers, are written for deployments into Azure. Thus, if you want to use native cloud services that would be the only option. However, if you just want to decommission your on-premise Data Center you still can use other cloud platforms such as AWS, Google etc. to host the Windows VMs. Basically, you will still have a standard install but it’s hosted in the cloud instead on-premise.
