Hi all,

Within the Edit Address work task, I’m able to define a task end location.

We are using manual allocation.

However, it’s not clear to me how this end‑location information is passed to MWO or the Dispatch Console (given that we’re not using PSO). Specifically, I’m trying to understand how the technician is informed not only of the initial task location, but also of the final destination.

Essentially, it works like defining a route segment with a start and end point, but without using a linear asset.

Could someone please provide some guidance on how this is intended to work?

Thank you

Hi!

it is mainly used for scheduling purposes with PSO to calculate correct travels to-from next jobs when woking on a linear type equipment for example.

It’s probably a rather niche case, but imagine an inspection of a larger plant (or a pipe without the need for a linear asset) where you start at point A and end at point B, but both have a significant distance so that for accurate scheduling you don’t want to assume onward-travel from point A. These activities are also nicely visualized in the PSO workbench map, not sure if DC considers it at all.

Another niche example would be a moving object on which you carry out work. Get on a ferry/train and do inspections while it’s moving. Onward travel calculation would then correctly start from the journey’s end location.
