We have a requirement from customer that should the activity be automatically scheduled or should there be manual scheduling based on activity type. They have the same set of resources hence different datasets is not a choice.

Could someone help what could be the solution in this case?

Option 1: You can define a skill “Manual Scheduling” and provide it to the relevant activities/activity types. But that skill won’t be available for any Resources so PSO will not automatically schedule them.

Option 2 : You can simply use “Do not schedule” status for those activities so that PSO will not automatically schedule them.

In 25R2, there’s a flag called “Scheduled Manually” on the Scheduling Activity Types.
Otherwise, you can set the base value to 0 for these, which would mean they won’t be scheduled automatically.

Thank you Sajith. Good Suggestion. For Option 2, any idea where can we get the do not schedule status?

Thank you Anmise. Good feature in to 25R2. We will look into upgrading soon.

That’s exactly what the flag mentioned by André maps to. Prior to 25R2 this was not possible out of the box. And if you need an additional bait to upgrade to 25R2, look at the embedded workbench. 😁
