On IOS there is a icon for the barcode scanning functionality. On Android you have to click and hold, but no icon.
Is it possible to show/hide the barcode icon?

You can't hide barcode icon only for ios. But if you don't need the barcode scanner, you can change the “ENABLE_BARCODE_SCANNING” app param to N.
