When using Report > Work Instruction in Shop Order to print multiple documents, files with a DWG extension are failing to open due to IFS thinking there is no files association set up. When trying to open DWG files individually IFS will open them with eDrawings. Is there another setting for file association within IFS for opening packages of documents?

@Alex_Gosling Can you explain what you mean by “When trying to open DWG files individually IFS will open them with eDrawings.”. Is it when you try to view document.
can you pls check how it works when you try to print the same document file from the document revision page.
Hello,
When opening the DWG document in document revision it finds the file association and tries to launch the correct application, in this case eDrawings:
When running the Report > Work Instruction the system attempts to print all documents associated with the shop order, which works for PDF files, but fails to find the file association for the DWG document and generates the unable to print error:
It’s the same document in both instances.
Thanks
A wild guess, but is the eDrawings Viewer required to be installed on the machine that is performing the printing, which in this case is probably different from the user’s machine?
Yes, the eDrawing software is required on the machine doing the printing and it is installed on the users machine. They have confirmed they can view DWG files individually and the error is only occurring when trying to open a ‘job packet’ in Shop Order by running the Work Instruction report. Attempts have been made resolve the problem by installing other software to view the DWG files, but the issue persists.
I’ve also reproduced the error on my machine which opened two PDF files from the job packet successfully then failed to open a DWG file. The debug log didn’t give any clues as to why opening the file in a batch caused the error.
@Alex_Gosling
Is the eDrawing program set up in Windows to handle RMB -> Print on DWG files? Because we need that. Basically we ask windows to either use the Open or Print "verbs when we open or print files from IFS Document Management.

Did you sort this out?
