Supported File Types by the IFS File Previewer

I write to ask some questions about the IFS file previewer for attachments. The ability to use the file preview is denoted by the presence of an icon shared like an Eye.

I believe, if a user has permission to view the attachment in question, then they would see the 'eye' if the attachment in question is a supported file type.

Please could I ask the following, and please could I ask if the answers to the following could potentially be summarised and published as an IFS KB article since I think this information would be useful to any IFS customer.

1) Can a table be provided of which file types can be viewed via the IFS file previewer?
If support for previewing of a particular file type was introduced in a particular version of IFS, could a note be included stating from which version of IFS this support was introduced?

If there are some notable file types which you know are NOT supported by the IFS file previewer it could be good to call those out. (I would be keen to establish that .msg and .eml - Outlook email messages for certain are not supported by the file viewer)

2) Is the ability to preview a document using the IFS file previewer reliant on the user using specific web browsers?

3) Does the IFS Aurena Extension (or indeed any other browser extension) extend the range of file types that can be viewed by the IFS file previewer.

Hello diwelk,

Thank you for flagging this list of the supported file types on a community post and to Mathias Dahl for compiling this list.

Please could consideration be given to potentially giving this information in the form of an IFS knowledge base article as that would make this much easier to discover?!

It would also be a more logical source to be updated as and when potentially new file types end up being supported) For context, I raised a support ticket after failing to find this information in a KB and was then directed to ask a question in the community forums.

All the best and thanks for consideration,

GrayHam

2) Is the ability to preview a document using the IFS file previewer reliant on the user using specific web browsers?
No, there are no browser-specific limitations. Any supported web browser that can access the IFS Cloud environment supports the file preview functionality.

3) Does the IFS Aurena Extension (or indeed any other browser extension) extend the range of file types that can be viewed by the IFS file previewer?
No, the ability to preview files is not dependent on the IFS Aurena Extension or any other browser extension. It is entirely based on the file preview support provided by the IFS Cloud Web client framework itself.
