Hi All,

What does secure copying do for documents and how to use it?

Can you inform me?

Best Regards.

Hi,

Can you elaborate, describe what you want to know in more detail? It's not clear what you are asking about.

Thanks!

Hi @Mathias Dahl ,

I want the user who only has permission to view the document to not be able to copy it. Also, what does the SAFETY_COPY_REQ field in the image mean by N Y?

If a user has View access, you cannot stop them from making a copy of the document. It's pointless trying to do that. If they can view it, they can also find a way to save a copy or, at the very least, take a screenshot.

If you are very concerned about them getting hold of the original file, you can create another revision where you only keep a PDF version of it (or even an image) and only grant access to that revision. Do not then grant access to the revision that keeps the original.

SAFETY_COPY_REQ is for informational purposes only. That means, you can use it however you want to. It is probably a leftover from what come before the Docman of today.
