Override default value in Document Class Management

It is not possible to override the default value for SYSCFG_SOX_LOG_EXPIRE_DAYS (Edm File Op Announce) - how long a log entry will remain before it is deleted.

Is there a way to override this default value? Is there a parameter somewhere that will enable this override?

We have a requirement to store information for a very long time for a specific document type.

We can of course change the standard value to 9999, but that would affect all documents and the table would fill up quite quickly.

@GISANCAR if you login as a DOCMAN ADMINISTRATOR (user granted that privilege) you should be able to change this default value in Document Management\Basic Data\Document Default Values. the value set by the system default to 30 days, but you can override it as required. This can only be set centrally for all doc classes.

Can you elaborate on your business requirement for the need of setting this for specific documents only.

@diwelk  Yes, I can change it centrally, for all documents. But that would mean that everything is kept in the table for years - the table would grow too large.

The requirement is from the military defence sector, or delivery/business with companies within the defence industry. Where we need to be able to show who and when someone has accessed a certain document. The information need to be kept for 20 years, or something similar.

That is why we want to have a different expire date for different document types. In the same way as printouts are handled. For example, we can set 10 years for invoices and 0 days for Shop order work instruction.
