Hello everyone,

I would like to know if media elements (such as images, videos, or other attachments) in IFS Applications have a revision system. Specifically, is there a way to track changes to these elements, similar to document revisions?

Additionally, I’m looking for a method to automatically send modified media elements to an external server whenever they are updated. Does IFS provide any built-in functionality for this, or would this require a custom integration?

Thanks in advance for your insights!

Hi,

Media items doesn't have a revision and I frankly don't think anyone ever updates them. If you need revision control I suggest you evaluate using documents instead, which have revisions and much more.

The syncing mechanism you describe is also not there but might not be that hard to develop.

If you explain the background and some more details we might be able to recommend how to solve the requirements.

Hello Mathias, thank you for your clear answer.

My client creates images on a tool (A) which has to integrate the articles into IFS. Once published in IFS, they are also sent to another external server (B) for archiving.
From there, changes to the image are made in IFS, and each time a change is made, the image is sent to server B.

Thanks for the details. I don't think we have anything that will help for that specific use case, you need to build yourself what you need there.

Good luck!
