Hi COmmunity,

Is there a way to add a new Document Default Value ? (see Attachment)

Regards

Hi,

from a technical aspect it can be done via a sql script. For older versions of IFS Applications we had a German VAP that extended DocMan and there we had several new default values.

Regards

As @heibde says, it can be done from a script. That means not through the user interface. The reason is that the default values in most cases are more like settings that Docman uses at different places, rather than default values for fields. And even if you add one from a script it will not be used unless you also make a customization where you use it, or use it from a custom event.

What do you want to use it for?

Thanks for your Answer

I would like to have values per class instead of adding custom fields

Thanks for the update!

I don't see the relationship between a custom field and if you could configure default values for any column/field - can you explain the use of it?

Thanks!

hi
we’d like to add Process to class.
for a type of class a like to associate a process ( Sales, Manufacturing...)
→ I will ad a custom field to DocCLass Object insted to ues default value

Thanks!

Did you consider using any of the six "free" description fields we have on a document revision?
