We are trying to restrict a certain document class that only users in a specific person group can upload using it. Others are set up to have view access to the document class but we only want 1 person group to be able to upload a document to this specific document class.

Create the Person Group.
In Document Class Management, for this Document Class add only this Group ID in the Persons and Groups tab.
Only users in this group will be able to register a new document revision in this Document Class.
That doest quite work - I still need users to have read access.
I set it up like this:
And then tested with a user that is not in the ENG-ENG group but is in the MMC-ALL group and it still allowed them to add a document with Class ENG-0022
My apologies - I misspoke and this is working as expected using the Document Class management. I was testing with an elevated privileges account and the timing was off.
